Whenever possible, the Museum welcomes school visits. These are by special arrangement on Wednesdays only. The children are charged the normal child admission price. Teachers are admitted free, and are invited to visit the Museum beforehand, to see what it has in store for the children. At any time, young visitors will find plenty to interest them. There is usually one bus designated as their playbus, where they can be allowed in the driver’s seat. There is an area set aside for children, with low chairs and colouring materials. An extensive arrangement of road signs, new as well as old, and even a full-size working set of traffic lights, are accompanied by a quiz sheet. And there are plenty of pocket money items for sale in the well-stocked shop.
